BID Equity's software group for planning offices acquires WIDEMANN SYSTEME
The union of Kobold Managment Systeme GmbH and untermStrich Software GmbH from Austria, realized by BID Equity Fund II, grows by another member. The acquisition of WIDEMANN SYSTEME GmbH from Wiesbaden complements the product portfolio with diverse functionalities for landscape planning.
With nearly 40 years of experience in computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS), Widemann is the German market leader in urban planning software.
With its product WS LANDCAD, the company offers comprehensive tools and design aids for urban and landscape planning. The combination of CAD and GIS functionalities as well as the multitude of export and import formats allow for convenient and appealing urban land use planning. In addition, the software supports the requirements of the standard data format for public land use planning "XPlanGML" and thus realizes an important step in the uniform digitization of public infrastructure.
The product range also includes solutions for 3D design, geodata, tree cadastre, cemetery and property management. More than 3,500 customers use Widemann's software across Germany, meaning that the combined group of companies now provides a comprehensive digital solutions portfolio for more than 7,000 architects, engineers, urban planners and municipalities.
