BID Equity acquires FarMedvisie, a leading provider of software for the digital prescription of medicines in the Netherlands (ePrescription)
BID Equity Fund II has acquired Woerden-based FarMedvisie Holding B.V.
FarMedvisie offers the modern and intuitive SaaS software solutions FarMedRx and FarMedZ that enable care institutions to electronically prescribe medication in a safe manner. With the help of the user-friendly application, doctors can create a complete therapy plan with just a few mouse clicks. The software guides the user through the prescription process with the help of pre-programmed protocols taking into account the individual patient history. This helps to minimise risks such as negative interactions with medicines already in use or incorrect dosages. In the next step, the interface to the logistics robots of the pharmacies enables the automatic dispensing of the correct medication.
FarMedvisie's solutions are trusted by more than 300 customers in the Netherlands, who issue approximately 2 million prescriptions each year using the software. Many of these customers are mental healthcare institutions, of which FarMedvisie serves five of the ten largest in the Netherlands. Other users are active in the areas of rehabilitation, nursing or general medicine.
FarMedvisie is the platform investment for a new software group aiming to become a market leader for software with a focus on ePrescription and mental health. FarMedvisie founder Robert van Wijk: "We are pleased to have found exactly the right partner for our medium-term company succession in BID Equity. Now, we are looking forward to implementing the next steps of our growth strategy together.”
