FarMedvisie extends medication safety offering by MediCheck App acquisition

FarMedvisie, 17 Jul 2024

After a successful history of joint cooperation, FarMedvisie and MediCheck App are pleased to inform about FarMedvisie’s acquisition of MediCheck App. The combination of MediCheck App’s mobile SaaS solution for medication intake administration with FarMedvisie’s ePrescription SaaS suite marks an important milestone as from now on, the complete medication lifecycle will be covered by one common platform. Together, the solutions will ensure medication safety for more than 200,000 patients per year.

MediCheck App focuses on workflow optimization for caregivers and maximizing safety for patients. With its mobile features such as digital administration lists for medication intake, a second-check system for high-risk medications, and an up-to-date medication overview, MediCheck provides comprehensive support for care givers. Additionally, the software facilitates communication between pharmacies and healthcare organizations, managing medication side effects, and enabling streamlined medication ordering processes.

FarMedvisie offers the modern and intuitive solutions FarMedRx and FarMedZ that enable care institutions to electronically prescribe medication in a safe manner. The software guides the user through the prescription process with the help of pre-programmed protocols taking into account the individual patient history. This helps to minimise risks such as negative interactions with medicines already in use or incorrect dosages. In the next step, the interface to the logistics robots of the pharmacies enables the automatic dispensing of the correct medication.

Chris Sindhunata, Co-Founder of MediCheck App, said, "We are very pleased that our collaboration has led to this acquisition. By combining our products, we enable healthcare organizations to benefit from a solution that covers the entire medication lifecycle in one platform. For our customers, this means that the high level of quality they are accustomed to will continue to be reliably delivered, along with new features and resources."

Matthieu van der Heiden, Managing Director of FarMedvisie: "With the acquisition of MediCheck, FarMedvisie adds another strong component to its product portfolio. Moreover, we will also add personnel resources that will strengthen our team – especially in the elderly care segment and in mobile development. The great feedback by our clients supports this decision.”
