Bausoft enriches MegaCAD with solutions for technical building services
MegaCAD announces the majority acquisition of the renowned Bausoft Informatik AG from Switzerland, a leading provider of CAD for technical building services. This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone for both companies, turning a long-standing partnership into an even closer relationship.
MegaCAD is known for its proprietary CAD solutions and has established itself as one of the leading CAD software providers in Germany over the last decades. MegaCAD focuses on developing a user-friendly and powerful software product that maps the design process in the best possible way and efficiently implements creative visions.
As a long-standing partner of MegaCAD, Bausoft Informatik developed specialized software for the design of technical building systems. Over 700 Swiss customers from the plumbing, heating, ventilation and sprinkler sectors use the 2D or 3D solutions to model building technology requirements. The product portfolio is also supplemented by modules for bathroom planning and industrial pipe routing. The two managing directors Reto Zawarty and Roman Hegglin will continue to accompany the combined group on its future path.

Together with MegaCAD, BID Equity Fund II develops a software group in the field of technical CAD applications. Based on its advanced, proprietary CAD core, the group offers various industry specific CAD solutions. At present, the main customer industries include metal, mechanical engineering, sheet metal, special construction and urban and landscape planning products. Bausoft expands this product portfolio with a strong building technology solution.
